There's a moment, just before pressing the shutter, when everything aligns - light, shadow, gesture, emotion - and time seems to hold its breath. For many years, I've chased these moments through the streets of cities across the globe, learning that every corner holds a story waiting to be told, every passing stranger carries a universe within. Through my lens, I've discovered that street photography transforms the act of making photographs into something much deeper: preserving the poetry of ordinary life, revealing how the smallest moments can hold entire worlds.

I've always known there was something different about the way I see the world.
How my eyes catch on the edges of moments, where light and shadow dance their eternal duet across city streets, where stories write themselves in the gestures of strangers passing through the frame of an ordinary Tuesday afternoon. For over fifteen years, I've wandered the world's streets with my camera as both compass and confidante, discovering that every corner holds a universe of possibilities, if only we learn to see them.

When time seems to slow down around a perfect moment, when light and subject and emotion align in a way that makes your heart skip? I've spent my life chasing these moments, from the sun-drenched squares of Marrakech to the neon-washed alleys of Tokyo, learning that every city speaks its own visual language, yet all tell stories of our shared humanity. These journeys have taught me that street photography is my way of asking the world questions I didn't know I had.
My camera has been many things to me over the years.
A shield, a bridge, a key unlocking doors to stories and moments that exist in the spaces between what we think we know. Through its viewfinder, I've learned to see both what exists and what waits to emerge: those fleeting intersections of light, life, and possibility, that define our existence in urban spaces. Each frame has been a lesson in patience, in presence, in the art of seeing beneath the surface of things to where true stories live.

I've discovered the irreplaceable value
of my own vision.
Our feminine gaze carries unique power. We see the world through a lens shaped by generations of watching, waiting, and witnessing. Our sensitivity to the subtle currents of human emotion, our intuitive understanding of the power of quiet moments, our ability to find beauty in the overlooked. These ways of seeing become our strengths, allowing us to capture the quiet dramas that unfold just beneath the surface of daily life.
In my years of teaching and mentoring fellow women street photographers, I've witnessed transformations that still take my breath away.
Moments when a photographer first trusts her instincts, when she realizes her "different" way of seeing is actually her greatest strength, when she captures an image that speaks directly from her heart to the viewer's soul. These moments remind me why I fell in love with street photography in the first place. Its power to freeze time, to preserve feeling, to make visible the invisible, are threads that connect us all.
My own journey has taken me from hesitant observer to confident creator.
From someone who took pictures to someone who makes photographs that speak to what it means to be here, now. Through published monographs, books, and exhibitions in cities from Shanghai to Barcelona, I've shared my vision of the world—simply because it belongs to me, and keeping it to myself would be a betrayal of everything I've learned. Each image is a love letter to the hidden beauty of common moments, to the courage it takes to see and be seen, to the profound act of witnessing life unfold through a viewfinder.
Teaching has become as essential to my practice as creating.
Guiding another woman photographer toward her unique voice fills me with profound purpose, sharing both the craft and the soul of street photography: how to move through space with purpose and grace, how to approach strangers with respect and empathy, how to trust the quiet voice inside that says "this moment matters." My approach to mentoring goes beyond f-stops and shutter speeds to the heart of what it means to be a woman carrying a camera through the world.
The streets have been my greatest teachers, showing me that every moment holds multiple truths.
